Many area organizations and institutions have collaborated with the Friends of Theodore Roethke foundation to promote Roethke's legacy. The Saginaw Community Foundation funded Roethke House Writing Workshops, bringing together students and staff from Saginaw Public Schools and Saginaw Township Community Schools, in collaboration with the Saginaw Bay National Writing Project, for a series of workshops. A Watson Parochial School Grant brought parochial students into the Roethke House. Valley Lutheran High School and all of the Saginaw Catholic Schools have participated in Roethke House events.
The Saginaw Community Enrichment Commission funded a father and son writing workshop. The Michigan Humanities Council granted seven schools throughout Saginaw the opportunity to learn through hands-on activities. Several community and civic organizations have contributed to seven seasons of Literary Picnics in the poet's backyard. The Master Gardeners have volunteered their time and efforts to help beautify the property. The mayor and council members of the city of Saginaw, as well as the Saginaw Township Commissioners, have dined at Roethke House-sponsored events.
